You usually don’t look forward to choosing a mobility device, right? I certainly didn’t.
After doctors diagnosed me with Multiple Sclerosis in 2018, I saw a girl at the hospital with a cane while I waited for my infusion. I thought, “That will be me in a few years.”
By 2020, I bought a cane because I kept tripping and falling. Each doctor visit required me to wear a fall risk bracelet, and I usually reported falling 3 or 4 times in the past six months. I hoped the cane would offer some support.
This year, in 2024, we purchased my byAcre rollator. My mom bought it for my trip to Europe because we were all concerned about my ability to walk around London and Paris for extended periods.
How did I choose this mobility device?
I wanted something better than a cane but not a scooter (although my neurologist suggested a scooter if needed!). Online, I looked for something more advanced than a walker, but when I imagined a walker, all I pictured the old metal ones with two wheels and tennis balls on the legs.
While browsing on TikTok, I discovered the byAcre rollator and thought, “This is it.” I found other people with Multiple Sclerosis using this brand and visited their website to explore different rollator options.
I decided on the Carbon Ultralight, which claims to be the lightest rollator in the world. It’s a mobility device that also feels stylish and modern.
When you buy this rollator, it arrives fully assembled—no need to deal with complicated instructions. It features a built-in seat, allowing you to comfortably take a break anytime, even if seating isn’t available. The rollator also has brakes that keep it in place while you’re seated. Its compact design makes it easy to fit into a black cab in London and quick to fold in tight spaces. Plus, it comes in a variety of colors to match your personal style.
After using it during my travels in Europe, it performed exceptionally well, and I feel confident taking it on more trips abroad!
